shoes are both a blessing and a curse. i love shoes, but i also hate them. i love cute shoes, funky shoes, cool shoes, dorky shoes. yet, i hate that i’m forced to wear them all day in the office, even though i don’t walk around. i should be able to kick them off so my feet don’t get hot and sweaty as i sit here and type for eight hours. i’m going to start a campaign:
footwear-optional fridays!
who’s with me?

6 Thoughts on “protest!

  1. here here!

  2. personally, the idea of kicking of my shoes in the middle of my cubicle is a good idea. the problem with that is, i will have to deal with everyone doing it. and that to me is a problem because if you have people who work around that constantly try and scratch their feet through their shoes must be a good indication of athelete’s feet. which makes for smelly socks right?

  3. Especially in sandal season, I’m always walking around our office with barefeet. The other 3 women I work with don’t seem to mind. I do, however, keep my feet impeccably groomed (it is sandal season after all) so I’m not showing ugly toenails, calluses nor stinky feet.
I also love the feel of burber carpet on the soles of my feet. :)

  4. i never wear shoes at work. i take them off as soon as i get in, and walk around barefoot all day. i only put them back on for meetings. i wear sandals all year to avoid funkiness. my co’s are used to it.
my excuse at clients is “i’m a geek. if i wasn’t a little odd, you wouldn’t think you were getting your money’s worth.”

I abhor wearing shoes inside. Nothing makes a day more gruesome than hot feet. Bare it all, baby!
I actually had one boss complain that I was an insurance liability. Like a web development company has a lot of foot hazards lying around on the floor.
Since I run my own business now, every day is Footwear-optional Friday!
    Heck, most days it’s clothing-optional…

  6. I can’t remember the last time I left my shoes on at work all day. It’s silly how it’s such a big deal if you have your toes over the one strap as opposed to under it.
I saw some people talking about this on a website called PEDOL. The web address I put on top. If you didn’t get it, it is at http://www.pedolgroup.com
