i don’t have any words right now. i don’t even have any photos right now. i’m boring and sleepy, but i look really good in one of my new articles of clothing.
my life in point form:
– there’s class tonight but i haven’t done my homework.
– i’m seriously considering the benefits of the atkin’s diet.
– living in fear of the mastercard statement is not fun.
– i need a new book to read.
– new steve madden platform t-straps make me happy.
– there’s a desperate need for a more comfortable desk chair.
– eight a.m. is my default wake-up time sans alarm.
– i can’t believe you’re still reading this tripe.
Hess, if you are interested in low carbing, I recommend you go visit the Low Carb Centre store in North Van (my mum works there as a nurse – she runs the weight loss programs). At the shop, they have tons of info, including a bakery and deli, etc of low carb, no sugar products. You can also see them online at http://www.lowcarbcentre.com (but the site doesn’t do the shop justice). The store is hugely successful – they are openning up two more in the next few months (downtown I think).
Anyway, just an idea ;)
weird, i just saw that place yesterday while stopping at save-on. small world!
just say no to atkins.
Hmm. I’m not real sure about any “special” diet. I don’t know that I could temporarily cut things out of my diet. For me, I think it’d have to be a lifestyle change. Would I forever give up carbs? Hell no. It’s all about moderation, baby. And exercise. And cutting calories. If you can do that, you can lose weight.
Okay, I did Atkins a few years ago, and yes, I lost about 20 lbs… but you get *really* sick of eggs for breakfast EVERY day, and believe it or not, you will be sick to death of meat in a week.
After 6 months, I just couldn’t do it anymore. Thankfully, I chose to simply cut back and go outside more, and I lost the rest of my weight two years ago… another 30 lbs over the 20 I lost with Atkins, and I was much happier doing it.
Anyhow — Just wanted to put my two cents in! :)
Cheers,
Tanya
Book to read:
“Stardust” by Neil Gaiman. It’ll take you just a few hours and it’s more gorgeous and satisfying than anything else I’ve ever read.
the main thing is exercise. One thing that helps me is to get a food a week that I like and replace it with something that’s better…like say, fries for ceasar’s salad…then later, ceasar’s for house salad. It’s gradual and easy this way, and supplements the additional exercise too. Diets are a bad idea in my books, permanent adjustment’s the way to go.
