i thought i’d feel different. you know, the way you think you’ll look different after you lose your virginity. but you don’t, no one notices, and you feel kind of disappointed that the whole world can’t tell. of course, it’s only six am and no one’s seen me yet to notice. maybe i expected sirens when i woke up this morning. maybe they’re waiting for my official natal anniversary of 9:03am instead. i should go get some more beauty rest. i hear you really need that once you’re thirty.
oh god. i’m thirty.
oh heather, it’s gonna be lovely honest! you can say with so much authority now, “i’m a 30-year-old woman.” to me it’s the same as saying, “cut the bullshit pal, i am smart, savvy and sophisticated.”
also, this guy i almost dated once told me, “there isn’t anything sexier than a 30-year-old woman.” and he told me this when i was 28!
so be positive. be happy. it’s your birthday and that’s a wonderful, wonderful thing. not everyone is so lucky to get to see 30– you are! it’s a good day.
<jumps out of cake>
happy birthday!!!
you know you’re not really thirty until they stop carding you, right?
happy birthday, sugar!
Happy birthday! I wish I could remember my 30th birthday, but that was a long time ago (and a pretty good party, I guess).
Don’t worry – 30 is when it all begins girlie!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, DAISY!! *hug* It’s SO COOL to be thirty! Jodi and Nicole are right, and I can’t wait to be thirty, too!
thirty’s great. it means you have three years left before you’re 33, which is when things really start to go downhill in a big way.
hippo birdie two ewe!
happy birthday heathery. i hope i am as cool as you are when i reach thirty.
happy day… 30 isn’t bad.. get depressed when you turn 40 or 50.. but not 30.. the best years are coming up :)
30? Good lord. You’re old. Like really old. Yeek. How the hell you get so old? Whats it like? Do you feel weak? Eyesight and hearing goin’ to shit? Do you watch infomercials (sp?) for the Rascal Scooter with interest? I remember when you were young, and spry… and full of… uh… pluck! yeh! And now look at you! what evil hast time wrought upon thee?!? Ah well. Love ya anyway. Even if you are old. ;)
Happy birfday! ;) Hope you had a good one!
so was I the very first person to wish ya happy bday IRL?
consider this: typical women hit their sexual peak in their thirties. oh, and jim? shut the hell up; I’M 33.
oh yeah, and Happy Birthday!
Mikey – Jim’s older than you – but in serious denial and has the lifestyle of a 20 year old. Apparently we try harder to live young the older we get!
I’ll be 33 in September, mikey. Do I have much to look forward to? 32 hasn’t been so hot….
Oh, and Heather, you and Tom Cruise both had my birthday thoughts and wishes yesterday :) But he’s 10 years older than you.
shelagh – i wish i’d had this lifestyle when i was 20. it takes years of hard work to reach this level of fun-itude. that said, i’m planning to grow up again sometime around september. start reading the national post or something.
jim – never change, darlin. I meant that in the kindest of ways! ;)
much belated best wishes for being at the top and being able to see the downhill slide. i’m there too now and the view is somewhat depressing but no more so than anything else. and sometimes the moon is a bloated and baleful ball of cheese, even if you don’t capture it on pixels. and that’s nice.
