i’m sorry, heather. i had the same thing happen to me over the summer with an injured bird, but i took him to a wildlife rescue thing. i don’t know if he lived or died, but i’m assuming most of them don’t make it after their mommas abandon them. :-(
You tried, at least, and your heart was in the right place. If a person can easily capture a wild animal, it must be in very dire straits indeed. Sometimes a good deed like yours has a happy ending, but many times the poor wild thing ends up in someone’s rose garden in a makeshift tomb.
