i bought an artichoke today. lately, i’ve been obsessed with the idea of trying an artichoke. i don’t even know how to cook an artichoke. although, i did buy some garlic butter. somewhere i heard you need garlic butter with artichokes. it’s rather pretty. maybe i’ll just shellac it and use it as some funky paperweight/objet du art. ARTichoke. get it?
i really wish i could laugh at that.
no garlic butter. artichokes need only some mayonnaise & vinaigrette. that’s all!
Haven’t you had gacamolli (sp?). That’s made out of artichokes. Artichoke hearts are really good on pizza with (before I gave up meat) chicken and provolone cheese. Mmmmm!!!
….and garlic. Mmmmmm.
Honey, guacamoli is made from AVOCADOS. Not artichokes.
Mayo and lemon juice and garlic, mixed together, best way to eat artichokes. You have to boil them, for a long, long time, if I remember correctly.
YUMMM!!!!
Artichokes = good with garlic.
Also good if made into a yummy dip. At least, that’s what i always get as appetizers at restaurants.
However, I’ve never actually cooked one.
appetizer! that was the word i was looking for… =)
Oh yeah.
i’ll stick with the garlic butter. i can’t stand mayonnaise (even if it comes in a tube).
Heh, artichoke guacamole – now THAT sounds scary. Just make sure you don’t eat the choke. Trust me ;) (And watch out for the prickers on the end of the petals [or whatever they’re rightfully called] – I’ve punctured myself repeatedly on them since getting my job!) Personally, any food that containers prickers and pokers and has about 1/10th of its contents suitable for eating is NOT worth the work for me.
i’ve never had artichoke. from the sound of it, i’m missing out.
